What we’re about

This meetup is for people with an interest in hardware technology — including electronics, embedded systems, physical computing, manufacturing, and hardware-adjacent work.

It’s a space for people interested in or actively working on hardware or hardware-related projects to meet in person and make meaningful connections. The goal is to learn new and different ways of doing things, share lessons learned, and help each other solve real challenges.

This group is intentionally broad: engineers, hobbyists, founders, students, designers, researchers, and small business owners are all welcome.

We will meet monthly and in person. This is a new meetup, and we expect to experiment with the format as the group grows.

Format

The meetup combines networking with a primary topic or activity. Topics are driven by the interests and needs of the group, and members are encouraged to suggest and lead topics.

Example Topic Genres

Show & Tell
“I’m working on this cool thing…”
Members share projects, prototypes, or experiments they’re currently working on.

Educational / Skill-Building
“This is how you design PCBs with modern AI tools.”
Short talks or walkthroughs on tools, techniques, workflows, or concepts.

Design Review / Problem Clinic
Bring a real hardware problem, design decision, or blocker.
The group asks questions, offers ideas, and shares relevant experience. Examples:
• Debugging an intermittent hardware issue
• Choosing components or architectures
• Improving manufacturability, cost, or reliability

Case Studies / Teardowns
Deep dives into existing products or past projects:
• What worked, what didn’t, and what we’d do differently
• Lessons from prototyping, testing, or production failures

From Prototype to Production
Topics focused on scaling hardware:
• Manufacturing, sourcing, testing, certification, and iteration

Tools & Workflow
Sharing tools, suppliers, lab setups, and processes that improve hardware development.

Business of Hardware
For founders and small businesses:
• Commercialization, pricing, compliance, IP, and early sales challenges

Not every meeting will include every genre — formats may rotate depending on interest.

Current Agenda (Typical Meeting)
• 15 minutes – Open networking
• 5 minutes – Introduce someone you met to the group
• 30 minutes – Primary topic or activity
• 10 minutes – Open call:
• What are you working on?
• What challenges are you facing?
• What do you need help with?
• Are you hiring?
• Are you looking for a job?

(Some meetings — especially design review or problem clinic nights — may adjust the timing.)

Who This Is For
• Small business owners: a place to get feedback, ideas, or find collaborators
• Employers: an opportunity to meet people working hands-on with hardware
• Job seekers: feel free to bring a resume, portfolio, or just curiosity
• Builders: people who like making things and learning from others who do

You don’t need to be an expert — curiosity, respect, and a willingness
