Introduction
Welcome (back) to Money Matters, a weekly discussion group relating to topics of personal finance and financial education/literacy.
Attendees are encouraged to share their personal experiences related to finances to help others learn and achieve their financial goals.

It is planned to repeat all the sessions from last year for those new to the group in the last 6 months, or those who couldn't attend.

Topic
The topic will be Our Relationship with Money.
We all have had different upbringings and our experiences, particularly early on in life, likely have shaped the way we view and think about money.
In order to make progress in our financial lives, perhaps we should try to understand ourselves as it relates to topics of money.

Discussion Prompts / Questions

  • Do you have any notable memories from your childhood or early life that you think shaped your view of money?
  • When you think about money, how does it make you feel? Worried/Helpless/Inadequate/Embarrassed? Excited/Eager/Hopeful? Jealous/Frustrated? Confused?
  • Do you think or react to money in a logical or emotional manner? Does it depend on the context/situation?
  • Are there any money mistakes or behaviours that you keep repeating but want to change?
  • Do you think you can ever have "enough" money? What would it look like for you to have "enough"?
