PLEASE REALIZE THAT YOU WILL NEED YOUR OWN KAYAK FOR OUR PADDLES. (we offer "loaner sea kayaks" for a small transportation and cleaning fee.) PLEASE REMEMBER that this is a SEA KAYAK CLUB (a sea kayak is at least 14' long, has a skeg or rudder, and has flotation fore and aft). You will need a SEA KAYAK for most of our paddles ( with the exception of the mid-week Wednesday evening casual paddles, but those with rec boats may have trouble keeping up with the group). Members are glad to help you select a sea kayak. Please contact us in person at meetups or via email/Facebook/ etc.

If you have NOT taken a sea kayaking course, we STRONGLY recommend instruction by Rick Wiebush and http://www.crosscurrentsseakayaking.com/ (NOT for total beginners). He periodically offers courses here and on this website.

Also, your local REI offers excellent new kayaker rentals/training/experiences.

Chesapeake Paddlers Association offers instructional courses like SK101 and Sk102.
