Incorporating elements of Alignment Yoga, this foundational class will address modern body issues most of us face due to living in a world that expects us to wear shoes, sit in chairs, and ignore our bodies so we can perform whatever we are working on. We will explore anatomy, physiology, function, and the purpose of the yoga asana, and adapt the practice to serve the needs of our bodies in modern times.

If you're new to yoga, this is a great place to start so you can approach any class with tools to keep you safe and building steadiness and ease in your body, rather than more tension or stress.

If you're an experienced yoga practitioner, this class will bring greater awareness to the way you move, and ground your practice in the eight limbs of yoga.

Please note - we use infrared heat to gently warm the studio. We have cold wet towels available for use if you get overheated, and showers and towels available if needed after class. Most folks find it to be a comfortable heat, as we don't crank it up like most hot studios, and because infrared doesn't make the room stuffy like forced air.
