Little Switzerland and waterfalls

This event proved to be so popular that I'm doing it again, only this time on a weekday. We'll meet in front of the Target at Stonecrest (see map) and divide up for car pooling, ideally taking no more than three or four cars to make parking at Little Switzerland more feasible. We'll then proceed to Tom's Creek Falls, arriving about ten o'clock. The path from the trailhead to the falls is about a half a mile, mostly flat, very easy. We'll play on the rocks, take a few photos, return to the cars and proceed up the mountain to the resort at Little Switzerland for an excellent lunch on their open air patio (weather permiting) and a wee bit o' shopping. When we're good and ready, we'll pile back into the cars for a twisting, winding trip to Roaring Fork Falls (pictured above). The trail from the parking area to the falls is a little longer, but still under a mile. There's a shallow pool at the base of the falls that makes for a soothing dip if you're so inclined. Bring a towel and change of clothes for that, of course. Then it's back to Stonecrest. I expect we'll make it back to Charlotte by six.
