URBAN WALK 13: Exploring King Salman Neighborhood (7km+)

For our next Urban Walk, we will trace a 7km route around one of my favorite areas of in Riyadh. King Salman Neighborhood is a premium residential area with large mansions, manicured walking paths, and a family park in the middle.

The neighborhood is relatively small - about 1km by 1km - so I have designed a looping and zigzagging walk to cover the prettiest streets with minimum repetition and maximum mileage.

While full walk is 7km it will be easy to leave at any point (or extend the walk at the end by repeating part of the route).

We’ll meet directly at the walk starting point, which will be shared with confirmed attendees by message and private comment on this page by the morning of the event. Free parking is available, and there's a metro station 2km away.

For those who attended this walk last time, we will do the walk in the opposite direction to keep things more interesting.

Schedule:

• 6:50 PM: Gather at the meeting point.
• 7:00 PM: Brief introduction to the route.
• 7:05 PM: Begin walk.
• 9:30 PM: Estimated return to starting point.

Important notes:

• Walk departs promptly at 7:05 PM.
• I am capping the group size to keep it manageable and friendlier.
• I will lead this walk at a moderately brisk pace. Individuals are welcome to set their own pace, and you will be able to join a WhatsApp group at the starting point to help you track the route and reconnect if needed.
• This is a free, informal activity. Unlike our Saturday hikes, you can leave the walk whenever it suits you: there’s no check-out.
• I will not be able to respond to texts and messages before or during the walk.

It’s a great opportunity to get some exercise, meet new people, and enjoy Riyadh’s urban landscape.
