Description

What has a square blue logo and more tools than a Swiss Army knife? Photoshop!

The good news is that web crafters can get a lot done in Photoshop without having to master every last part of the program. The aim of this two-class series is to help you hone in on the tools that will serve you the best as you design your site.

Whether you're a legit web designer looking to improve your skills, a code-hacking developer who wants to be able to better visualize your ideas, or a complete web and Photoshop newbie, you'll walk away from this course with a jam-packed skillset. Here are some of the goodies we'll be covering:

Workspaces Keyboard shortcuts and other workflow tips Non-destructive editing Blending options Smart objects Animated gifs Saving layer styles Swatches Text tool Font files Brushes Patterns Save for web Image formats: jpg, gif, png Piecing apart your project for the web Layer comps Color shifting By the way, having Photoshop installed on your laptop is a plus, but definitely not required for this course. We're a friendly bunch, so you'll be able to team up with a neighbor and follow along with her.

We've had some students go through this class and apply the general concepts in GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/) (free alternative to PS). We offer no guarantees, but it has been done.

Please bring photo ID. Upon entering 1 Broadway you'll check in with security. Tell them you're visiting the 14th floor.

Once you depart the elevator you'll find glass doors that are locked. If one of us is not there waiting to open the door, call Nicole @ (910) 233-5748 and we'll come let you in.

We're meeting in the room labeled Charles.

Payment

The total cost for the course (both classes) is $50.

You'll pay a $5 deposit when you RSVP via Meetup.com; because we have limited space, this is to save your spot in the class.

Then, the remaining $45 will be paid at the first class. We accept cash or PayPal; there is a $5 discount for cash payments.

+1 Young adult discount (girls 16 and under): half-pints are half-off if they're attending with you (shrinking the gap starts early, folks).
