An introduction to content engineering

We’re excited to be hosting John Collins, senior content architect on the Content Platform team at Atlassian, for a lunchtime meetup session.

John recently wrote a LinkedIn article about content maturity and content engineering, which attracted a fair bit of attention.

You've likely heard about content strategy, content design, and content operations. But have you heard about content engineering? Together, these four areas represent key content roles.

John’s talk will provide an understanding of what these roles are, and how they overlap and differ. He will then dive deep into content engineering and its specialties, such as modeling, taxonomy, schema, and more!

Long ago, John was an award-winning community journalist, but he moved to the software industry more than a decade ago and has extensive experience with technical writing, UX writing, content strategy, content design, and localiz(s)ation.

He has spoken internationally and says he is still learning and exploring content, design, and how best to get users the content they need.
