Santa Cruz Tiny Home Ordinance Update by Jenifer Levini, Esq.

In January 2023 a new law legalizing Tiny Homes on Wheels as primary dwellings and ADUs went into effect in Santa Cruz County. Only one other place in California permits this! Jenifer was the proponent who worked with Supervisor Koenig to initiate this process and rallied hundreds of people to support the process over several years. During this time, she also wrote two new books, “Tiny Home Buyers’ Guide” helps people buy safe and legal tiny homes, and “Tiny Home Builders Legal Handbook” to help manufacturers build according to the building standards and follow the laws regulating their businesses.
