Kubernetes on your own Hardware

Details

Many of us have used a Managed Kubernetes service before such as GKE (Google Cloud), EKS (AWS) or AKS (Azure). Have you ever wondered how to create your own cluster? This is something you can do yourself either using your own hardware or on compute instances in a Cloud provider. Doing so gives you the opportunity to gain a better understanding of Kubernetes and the services that underpin it. Managed Kubernetes instances provide a number of services which don't come with out of the box Kubernetes, such as persistent volumes - so this session will show you how to use similar features in your own cluster as you would in managed Kubernetes. Running on your own hardware allows you to learn about Kubernetes but without the cost of creating cloud instances. It also gives you the chance to experiment and to run your own applications on your own resilient compute cluster.
