Hoppy Hour

WHERE: We'll be meeting for food, drinks, and optional hangout afterwards, at Frankie's Beer and Wine in Escondido. It's a small neighborhood bar attached to a restaurant called Chicken Lisa's.

WHEN: 5:00pm to N:00pm, where N is either 8, or however long everyone feels like staying.

GOAL: Well, the first goal is to read this. Are you reading this? Ok good, that's step one. The second goal is to RSVP. This one's easy. Just click the button. The third goal is to come to the place listed up above, at the time listed above. After that, the rest is easy. There's goal four: Meet each other, listen to your life story and what's frustrating you these days, and then brainstorm together about how to fix the problems of loneliness, social isolation, and the lack of community in modern society. We'll also discuss the members' ongoing efforts to open an actual business that does the ideas we all come up with together. After that, we're basically done, except for goal five: get home safe. If we can accomplish those five things up there, then I'm pretty sure we're a group. Hi five!

RULES: As always, we have only one rule.

1. No one is allowed to buy anything for themselves.

If you want some coffee, or a sandwich, or a beer, or an Uber home: talk to another member. They'll get yours, and you can get theirs. We don't sweat the small asymmetries. It makes for a better group when we owe each other stuff. Like if you owe me a sandwich, and I owe you a beer, and we keep owing each other those things instead of doing dumb stuff like asking for $1.23 on venmo. I mean, if I don't owe you anything and you don't owe me anything, then we're not really a group, we're just a bunch of randos who bought food and drinks for ourselves with our own money and then ate the stuff and went home. We think that's pretty boring. So instead we do this. Because everywhere else in society already does the other thing.
