DevCrawl Session #2 Sixpack Testing in Cloud Deployment

Details

Details:

DevCrawl: Sixpack Testing in Cloud Deployment
The second DevCrawl meetup is going for a six-pack panel. While you’re sipping the beer, Notch Senior Developers will create a cross technology cloud deployment benchmark and compare six technologies:

  • Spring (Java)
  • Quarkus Native
  • Quarkus JVM
  • NodeJS
  • Go
  • Rust

We’ll benchmark technologies tooling and runtime execution with these parameters:

  • Build (build time and image size)
  • Deployment (spin time and resources requirements)
  • Execution (computational endpoint and performance test)

18:00 - First round of beer: Intro

  • Our Devs will make a short sip about technologies they used and the approach they took
  • Then we’ll talk about challenges of implementation and technology tooling
  • Setting the testing stage: deployment, metrics and testing performances

18:45 - 19:15 - Refill and munchies break!

19:15 - Second round of beer: The Metrics

  • Time to take a look at build timings, deployment and execution metrics
  • Show the results of each metric, API tests and load test
  • Anything you want to add or ask? Discussion time!

20:00 - 21:00 - Take a pint and let's talk a bit more!

From the idea to solution, from frontend to backend, from project start to project finish, from tech rookie to tech masters, and from first meeting to deployment. We have many starts and finishes during the software development process and our careers, and we like to "cheers" each time we cross one. And, to be fair, is there a better way to discuss any topic than over a beer?
