How to get close to your users and business goals - remotely

Details
For many agencies and companies, transitioning to remote user research has recently become a necessity. If you're used to in-person research, the lack of control over your user's environment, devices and technical issues can be frustrating.
In this panel discussion, we'll do a deep dive into the benefits and opportunities as well as the risks of remote user research and usability testing. Whether you're struggling with recruiting participants, adapting your methodology or just finding the right tools, our experts will provide you with plenty of tips and ideas on how to gather rich insights from afar and shape your product direction.
We want to make our meetups as interactive as possible and you'll have plenty of opportunities to ask the panelists your questions. Therefore, we would also like to ask you to connect your video and audio. It's not mandatory but our panelists are always happy to see your faces :-)
Our international panel:
Clo S.
Clo is an independent UX designer, UX researcher and conversational designer. She founded This Too Shall Grow, a one-person UX studio with which she focuses on mindful UX: consulting for and crafting experiences that respect users' mental health and privacy. Through her articles, she also aims at empowering readers, improving their tech awareness and agency.
Evelien Al
Evelien combines design research, content strategy and copywriting to help business owners reach their customers. She has worked remotely for several years as a user researcher and knows the ins and outs of Basecamp messaging and Slack threads. Currently, she's setting up her freelance business while finishing a stash of psychology books, and deciding where to live next.
Sonja Bobrowska
Sonja is a Customer Experience Researcher in Team Digital at UNIQA, one of the leading insurers in Austria with a presence in 18 CEE countries. In her role, she is heading qualitative research efforts based on the principle of team collaboration at all stages of the research process. In 2019, Team Digital established a monthly cycle of usability testing studies. When COVID-19 forced work-from-home, she and her team successfully transitioned from in-person to fully remote studies. Some of the introduced changes were so effective that they are sure to remain even when the situation returns to “normal”.
Max Scheugl
Max believes in product success by getting a job done and making humans happy.
Product development is more successful if you explore human needs with “listening sessions” upfront. If you evaluate early prototypes with usability tests or expert reviews. If you measure hypotheses with A/B tests.
Max loves building successful product as well as wireframes, user interface copywriting and humans.
Max works as a User Experience Consultant with 25 years of experience. As a volunteer, Max is mentoring UX people and organizing events for the Meetup group UxVienna. Follow him on https://twitter.com/scheugl
This meetup will be recorded and published on our YouTube channel afterwards.
