1 Year Remote Agile | Panel Discussion

Details

It’s been over a year now that the pandemic has disrupted our lives. Before the pandemic started, many companies were working in an agile way, presuming that working remotely would be hard for agile teams. Co-location was the norm and team cohesion a priority.

Once the pandemic had hit, however, remote work became reality for everyone. No matter the context, personality or school of thought. Some teams struggled more, others less and some really enjoyed the freedom and luxury of working from home. After one year it’s about time to reflect and share experiences within the community.

We look forward to having this interactive panel discussion with some of the most senior experts of the agile ecosystem and would like to welcome our panel:

Jürgen De Smet
Before, during and after an Agile adoption, large organizations often find that they need to de-scale and simplify organizational structures and processes. I function as their Simplification Officer!
We address specific pain points in the system so management can learn to enable emergent solutions. For example:
➸ Horizontal complexity- consolidating functions across the enterprise
➸ Vertical complexity - shedding obsolete roles, layers and reporting structures
➸ Spatial complexity - preparing distributed / remote teams for success
➸ Technical complexity - removing technical debt by decoupling, applying XP and Dev(Sec)Ops practices
My engagements with clients achieve greater organizational alignment with fewer dependencies left to manage. Transparency with access to good data ensures empirically-sound decision making. As a result, the system becomes leaner, more customer-centric and ready with each successive change wave to build its greatest products yet.
