Connection Space: GAMES, WOMEN'S area & 80/90s PARTY - simply meet friends 🙂
Details
DESCRIPTION:
- What? Fun events for meeting your friends without any specific reasons (like common interests, hobbies, genders, age groups, etc). The event is as simple as that 🙂 Not a dating event. Not an expat drinks meetup or a party meetup. Connection Space is a physical location outside family and work, where connection is the primary activity, and where we all meet new and existing friends, just like a community.
- Why? Click HERE (read "What we're about") , or read at the end of this page, to understand what we believe
- Cost? Free event - nothing to pay. We dont profit in any way. If you come after 22:00 say you are with the meetup and you dont have to pay entrance. Kind request: please tip the bar staff.
- Who? Wir wollen euch Schweizer/innen dabei haben - jeder ist willkommen und die meisten können Deutsch sprechen. This is NOT an "expat only" event. Everyone is welcome! Bring whoever you want we always got space! Love the randomness :)
- Where? "Aubrey" Bar 7min walk from "Hardbrücke" train station. We have reserved pretty much the whole place. If cannot find it call Christos on 0792839274 who always answers. An outdoor area is available if you like to socialise outdoors or smoke
- When? (come whenever you want)
- 18:30 - 22:30 Connection Space as described here.
- 22:30 - 03:00 Party with 80s/90s Music if you want to dance! I will make sure that the speakers are very low near the bar-area so you can continue talking if you want to :)
How?
- We reserve an area in a bar isolated as possible from the normal bar guests. In this fun and respectful area we bring people together that want to meet friends. Everyone then is free to connect with whomever they want in a free, no-fixed-process, way.
- In some tables we will add Connection Games from The School of Life and also other fun games. Feel free to take some and start a table. Some moderators will exist. Participation is optional.
- we created an optional "women's area" within the bar; if any women want to socialise only with women they can simply enter and exit this area as they wish. Participation is optional
Tips:
- Seek quality; if discussions go well with others then continue talking. If not, then simply talk to others. Having fun and a telephone number of a new potential quality friend should be YOUR goal of the meetup :)
- Persist; the turnaround is big, you can meet people you already met, or any of the so many new people that arrive each time, people come randomly to each event so you never know who you will meet.
- Great event to come solo - yes you can! :)
- If it feels hard to talk to others remember: everyone here is friendly and wants to meet people, so just say "Hi my name is xxx". If need help connecting come to Christos to help you connect discreetly
- if someone is not respectful or sticky or you feel uncomfortable; talk to someone else! So simple :) Also come and tell Christos to handle it discreetly.
- What can we do BETTER? We make these events for YOU! So if you give us feedback we can make them better for you. It takes 1 minute HERE. Or just walk to Christos and give feedback at the event.
- Food: Great burgers available
- Coats: pay or simply leave them around the bar at your own responsibility.
- Photos: If you want your photos to be deleted just message us. Photos need faces to convey the environment
- Christos (see photo) will welcome you, but please come and say hi anyways!
- Join our fb group and instagram
Looking forward to fun & new connections! 🙂

What we believe:
------------------------
Imagine a co-working space where everyone is with headphones, laptops, mostly being 'alone' all day ...
or a cafe/restaurant/bar where pretty much all people talk to people they already know..
The 'Connection space' is exactly the opposite of that; a space where people simply connect with friends
Thats it.
No to phones, laptops, zoom-calls, books (whats that?! :) )
No to a specific reason to meet up (eg. specific hobbies, genders, age groups, languages etc)
No to just talking to your friends
Yes to simple in-person(not online) connection with new friends
YES TO FUN!
Yes to feeling like home & come as you are
Yes to unity and respect
Yes to eating, drinking and music
Yes to always-free events
