"How Blockchain Can Make Open Source Work Better" by Lauriane Mollier

Hi everyone, we are pleased to announce our next event on March 22nd!

This time, we're joined by Lauriane Mollier. With a passion for decentralization and democracy, Lauriane founded "Open-Source-Economy" to blend open-source ethos with business principles. As one of the first engineers at Swissborg, she helped architect their financial system, enhancing accessibility for over a million users. Fluent in multiple languages, she shaped her perspective on democracy through diverse cultural interactions. Beyond work, she advocates for direct democracy through a YouTube channel and attended a democratic high school emphasizing student participation and self-governance.

Lauriane will be talking about the economics of Open Source:
Open Source developers face critical economic challenges. They lack a dedicated business model and are faced with a tough choice: They can either adhere to the community, open-source, and free software principles, but that often results in a lack of funding and resources, or they can compromise on those values by adopting a more traditional company model.
With blockchain, we can finally have the best of both worlds: a community-driven ethos and commercial success. Let’s explore how to achieve that!
