On this first meetup we will be presenting *Web3 London* community and our plans for the future!

Today I am announcing Paul-Adrien, co-founder of WhaleRoom, that will be talking about token gating and how you can engage with your community by providing exclusive access and content using NFTs. Super cool! ✨🚀

  • Token gating: Exclusive access and content using NFTs by Paul-Adrien

Paul is the co-founder of WhaleRoom, a social platform for crypto communities. He has worked on over 50 projects across a variety of sectors such as consumer goods, software, industrials, and energy. He is originally from Paris and living now in London.

In this talk, he will explain what token gating is and how you can make non-fungible tokens even more valuable. Beyond merely owning the video or song in a video or music NFT, you can also guarantee you’re the only one who can access that content. Essentially virtual VIP passes that grant access to exclusive content.

  • My journey becoming an NFT collector by Akshit Singh

Akshit is a Software Engineer and investor. In 2017, he began investing in cryptocurrencies. He taught himself how to write smart contracts and contributed to open source for Ethereum. Akshit has invested in projects like BAYC, Cyberkongz, Cryptopunks; early examples of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). He works as an advisor to several different NFT projects today.

In this talk, I will share my journey from the early days up to today. I will discuss what makes a successful project and what to look for in the future.

  • Digital Identity in Web3 by Ross Power

Ross is the Product Manager and Operations Lead at cheqd. Ross has been working in blockchain for 4 years, previously working for Accenture to scale up its blockchain and DLT capabilities. He stumbled across blockchain in 2016 when writing his dissertation on trust-building in developing countries. Ross lives in London although spent much of the past year on the coast in Cornwall.

His talk will explore how blockchain, cryptocurrencies, and decentralized finance (DeFi) are working together to enable a new paradigm that will allow individuals and organizations to take control of their data and digital identity in Web3.

  • Tina Ziegler is a director and London’s leading female art curator. Originally from California, Ziegler has curated over 300+ exhibitions and has worked personally with thousands of artists from across the globe. Tina Ziegler is the art curator behind the Adidas NFT Exhibition in Oxford circus four-floor art extravaganza in celebration of International Women’s Month.
  • Steffy Barbaglio is a director and founder. She leads luxury brand business development and is a regular public speaker in finance, crypto and blockchain. Founder of Financial Fox, a podcast demystifying the crypto world and investigating financial markets.
  • Mila Lolli, is a metaverse architect and founder of NFT UK. Her artwork featuring whales will be displayed at the Adidas store exhibition.
