What are Stablecoins?

Since stablecoins have been in the news a fair bit and there has been a fair bit of lobbying state-side for regulations around stablecoins makes this is a prime topic to go through. Sometimes stablecoins are considered boring but in times of turbulence when used correctly they can present a safe haven.

For this session, I'll be keeping it simple to help you understand a brief history behind why stablecoins became to be and pick apart what makes stablecoins wildly different from each other. Most importantly I want to discuss risks and why we see preferences with different stablecoins.
