Intro to Docker & Containerized Applications

Hi peeps,

I'm pretty exited to have the next "Lab" (on June 5th) featuring Docker.

Stephen Kuenzli (https://www.linkedin.com/in/stephenkuenzli/) is a highly-experienced technologist, speaker, and leader with a passion for building teams and applying technology to create, deploy, and scale software systems using Agile, DevOps, and quality methods.

Agenda:

1. Introduce what a Docker container is and why they are useful

2. Compare containers to virtual and physical machines

3. Demonstrate

4. building and sharing Docker images

5. running applications in containers using a Docker image

“The Lab” Meetup is an additional meeting for the Web Design & Developers group. The regular meetings will still take place on the 3rd Monday of the month and the general discussion topics will remain the same. “The Lab” will be held on the 1st Monday of the month and will focus on specific technical skills we would like to explore. If you are interested in attending, bring you laptop and join us.
