In a world where new frameworks, tools, and trends seem to appear every week, it’s easy to forget where true technical strength comes from: the fundamentals.

At Back to the Future of Code, we invite developers to not step backward, but step deeper into the core building blocks that power everything we build today. Because true innovation happens when we understand where technology comes from.

During this meetup we want to highlight an often-overlooked truth: advancing your career starts with advancing to basics. Whether it’s understanding how browsers really render a page, why certain algorithms stand the test of time, or how programming languages evolved, the foundations of computer science are not old news. They’re our superpower.

Women have played a defining role in shaping these foundations. Several core principles we rely on today, like structured programming, compilers, networking protocols, and even the concept of software engineering, originated from brilliant female minds. Their breakthroughs continue to influence how we write, understand, and innovate with code. By revisiting these fundamentals, we’re also honoring the pioneers whose work built the very ground we stand on.
