🍁 White Mountain Fat Tire Fest Weekend @ Wedeln 🍁

Details
Escape to North Conway for a weekend of Mountain Biking adventure!
We’re planning to head over to the fest grounds near Attitash on Saturday 9/20 at 8:15 AM to partake in the yoga session starting at 9:00 AM. After that we’ll likely stick around that area and do some riding there like we did last year. After that there will be food trucks, beverage tents, lawn games, and in the evening is the Fall Equinox Party including live music!
Last year, after yoga with Lake Life Yoga, we met up with some others for an MTB ride starting from the Fest grounds out to the trail system along the Saco and heading up to the trails on the far side of Bear Peak. It was great fun, and adventurous in that most of us had never explored that territory before. It was a little over 10 miles with about 700 feet of climb/descent, and lasted roughly 2.5 hours. There are many more trails to explore along that route and we'll likely do something similar this year.
There are three options to register for the event, but Wedeln is promoting the Saturday day pass for $25, with lodging at Wedeln* (details below) and food/beverage provided at the event. We’ll try to consolidate transportation to/from the Fest depending on bike hauling requirements.
- Click here for the Registration web page. Deadline is Thursday, Sep 18, 2025 at 5:00 PM ET. There’s a limit of 200 registrants.
- Click here for the Fat Tire Fest web site itself. Right now, details can be found under the “Festival!” menu. They’ve not yet updated the site with info specific to this year’s event, so check back periodically for updates.
New(ish) to Mountain Biking? We’ll be offering instruction on the fundamentals Friday evening in the Wedeln parking lot, so plan on arriving well before dark.
Need to rent a bike? Here are a few options:
- Red Jersey Cyclery
- Sun & Ski Sports
- Cranmore Bike Rentals (@ Cranmore – Open 10:00AM – 4:00PM Sat & Sun only)
What you’ll need:
- Helmet
- Eye protection (for Mt Biking - a set of clear safety glasses does the trick for seeing in shady woodland areas)
- Biking gloves
- Smallish backpack
- Light snacks or goo
- Water bottle(s) &/ or hydration packs
- Sunscreen
- Bug spray
- Bike lock (optional)
- $ for lunch and beverage(s)
- Mobile phone (the TrailForks app is a great trail companion)
Lodging is offered at the amazing Wedeln Ski & Outdoors Club, located in the heart of the Mount Washington Valley. For non-members, there's a nightly guest fee of $35. Bring your own towel, bed linens and/or sleeping bag, and pillow. This is a 21+ only event.
*We require first time guests to attend a local (MA) Meetup prior to staying at our Lodge. Please refer to the Wedeln Meetup calendar and to find an event near you!
