HI Tom,

Not sure if Jonathan let you know that we will NOT be headed north this weekend.  We are planning to put our dog, Cody, down this weekend.  He has been sick, and...well...now is the time.

Have a blast this w/e!

I am heading to NH now to scout out some of the hikes.  If you have any change to your plans please let me know via phone [masked]).  There will be Labor Day weekend traffic so it could add 30 min to an hour to travel times.

2 clarifications:

1. no keg, did not get enough interest

2. no organized Mountain Biking, although if you bring a bike I will point you to the trail system.

Below is a repeat of my email from yesterday.  Drive safe and see you soon!

---------

Hi All,

Weather looks decent this weekend but we do have a 40% to 50% chance of some rain on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Please bring a rain jacket on all hikes, in some cases we will be at exposed summits and it can be quite cold if you get wet.

I will go up early tomorrow and talk with some rangers about recommended hikes.  On Saturday and Sunday we will have 2 hike options  - an advanced hike that will likely be 9+ miles and a moderate hike which will be in the 5 to 7 miles range.  By the time people get up on friday I will have all hikes planned out.

We did NOT have enough responses to get a keg this weekend so it will be a BYOB weekend.  No beer is included.

Here is  the schedule

Friday        6pm to midnight - Check-in and BYOB at the Wedeln Ski Club - directions below.

Saturday - 9am - Leave for hikes, please have food, water and all hiking gear ready to go.

 5:30pm -   BBQ at Wedeln

8pm -         Lighting of the bonfire

Sunday -   9am -        Leave for hikes, please have food, water and all hiking gear ready to go.

6pm Optional dinner at local restaurant.

Monday 9am Check Out and Leave for hikes, please  food, water and all hiking gear ready to go.    We may not come back to the club so please be packed up.

Stuff to bring

-  personal beverages, no beer/wine is included in weekend price

-  Swimsuit, towels n(may hit a swimming hole if warm enough)

-  bug spray

-  snack food

-  breakfast and lunch food

-  sheets, pillow, blankets

-  sun screen/tan lotion

-  scrap wood and other burn-ables for bonfire

-  rain gear

Basic house rules - clean up after yourself, help out where you can and introduce yourself to others. No smoking in house, no pets and no one under 21.  We have a lot of first or 2nd time guest staying at the house this weekend,  I am looking forwrd to meeting old and new friends.

Payment is due upon arrival.  Cost is $20 per night, per person, $12 for Saturday BBQ.

If you have already paid $20 online this will be deducted from your total.  If you have NOT paid online do not pay now, it will just knock you out of the event because it is closed.  If you have not put a deposit down PLEASEcall or text me at [masked]

DIRECTIONS to the WEDELN HOUSE

(DO NOT USE GPS, YOU WILL GET LOST, TRUST ME!)

From MA:

Take route 95 North into NH.

Take the route 16 North exit  (it is a left hand exit)

Follow 16 N all the way through North Conway.

Look for rest area on left and the Vista Country Store on right, the turn is coming up.

Take a right on Hurricane Mt Road (this is also at the Bartlett town line)

Follow up a big, long hill and go straight through a 4 way intersection (Kearsage).

Continue another 1/2 mile on Hurricane Mt Road  to Timberline Road, take this left

Drive up road (about 1000 feet), you will see a large white house with a large parking lot in front - You made it!
