Wednesday Evening Prayer and Meditation

Details
Our mid-week Prayer and Meditation is designed to help you turn your attention towards God and find spiritual renewal in the middle of your busy week. This will be an opportunity to listen to a few minutes of peaceful music, hear a passage of scripture read, and enjoy the silence of meditative prayer.
All are welcome, no experience or particular knowledge are needed or expected. Regular attendance and punctuality is not required -- come when you are able.
Will meet weekly, August 19 through September 9, 2015.
Why Wednesday evenings?
Wednesday is, for most of us, the middle of the busy week and a time when we are most in need of spiritual renewal and a deeper sense of connection with God.
Why Prayer and Meditation?
Spiritual practices such as prayer and meditation can help us turn our attention towards God and develop a deeper sense of connection. We can hope that in the midst of the challenges we face, this experience will provide a deep sense of peace and a renewed sense of mission, helping us finish the week well.
What can you expect?
We will begin with a few minutes of peaceful recorded music, followed by a reading of scripture and a period of meditative prayer and silence. There will be prayer thoughout -- mostly silent receptive prayer, not vocal prayer such as prayer requests. Attendees will not be required to speak; individuals who prefer to remain anonymous and silent will certainly feel comfortable doing so.
