For years, in this group, we have been discussing what social scientists have referred to as "an epidemic of loneliness" in our society, discussing experiences, causes, and remedies. How did the Covid-19 pandemic (mentioned several times in the video below) change society in relation to isolation or connection? How do social networks and the digital empire impact one's sense of belonging? How do AI and various chatbots alter one's sense of (dis)connection?

The video below makes the case that Gen Z is the most lonely generation in history, not in spite of all of these technological advances, but partially because of them. Do you agree or disagree? What do humans really need to feel relationally connected or fulfilled?
