Mt.Yoshino in cherry blossoms

Go hiking for the cherry blossoms and traditional delicious specialties!

We would like to go hiking to Mt.Yoshino in southern Nara prefecture. This mountain features a great deal of cherry blossoms and the popularity has been long lasted for about 1000 years.
We walk on the roads or trails which have moderate but long slopes. There are several stores along the roads and some of them treat traditional delicious specialties. We can drop in at any souvenior stores, and buy kakinoha sushi or sweets. Kakinoha sushi is a mackerel sushi wrapped by persimmon leaves and sometimes salmon is used instead of mackerel to have more variety. We walk as viewing cherry blossoms and finally approach to Okusenbon.
Mt.Yoshino was once important place in Japanse history in around 1350 and it may be interesting in looking up the history in advance.
After enjoying the scenery we go back to the starting point, Yoshino station.

桜と伝統的な美味を求めてハイキングに行きましょう！

奈良県南部にある吉野山にハイキングに行きたいと思います。この山は物凄く多い桜が特長で、その人気は約１０００年もの長きにわたり続いています。
穏やかでも長い坂道を歩きます。道沿いには多くの店があります。お土産屋さんに立ち寄って柿の葉寿司または和風の伝統的なお菓子などを買うこともできます。柿の葉寿司は柿の葉で包まれた鯖の寿司で、変化をつけるために鮭などが使われることもあります。
眺望を眺めながら歩き、最終的に奥千本までたどり着きます。
吉野山はかつて１３５０年頃に日本史で重要な場所となったことがあり、予めそれを調べておくのも面白いかもしれません。
景色を楽しんだのちは出発点の吉野駅に戻ります。
