Waitakere - Cascade Kauri Walk (12km)

This Sunday we will walk the Cascade Kauri Track in the Waitakere Ranges. A very scenic loop with native bush, walking past the Ark in the Park and the Waitakere Dam. The walk is part of the Montana Heritage Trail. The track has been updated, mostly boardwalk and gravel, in excellent condition with plenty of shade. Good fitness is required as there are plenty of steps to climb.
Arrival time at 2:50pm for a prompt start time at 3:00pm.

There is a toilet at the start of the walk

What to bring:

Sun and rain protection
Plenty of water and a snack
Sturdy closed shoes with a good grip
Something to sit on for snack stop (optional)

Members only, no children, pets, smoking or vaping

We would appreciate a voluntary gold coin or annual donation to assist us with Meetup fees. Online or cash donations are welcome.

Meetup groups like this one are run by volunteers who would like to relax and enjoy the event as much as other participants. As such we expect everyone to take responsibility for themselves as we are not liable for any personal loss or injury at any event. By RSVP ing "Yes" you accept that you have read all the details of the trip and that you participate at your own risk. Therefore for your own safety and enjoyment and that of others please do not sign up for an event unless you know that your abilities are well within the level of fitness and agility required for it.
If you want to bring a friend to an event they need to sign up to this group so that they have the same understanding as above. Also there are limited spaces for our trips and so many members, so we have a policy that only members can come.
