Peak District walking and touring weekend

A great combination of walking, exploring, and experiencing local history and culture.

Our starting point will be outside High Barnet Tube station at the end of the Northern Line at 7.00 pm; travel will be in a VW Transporter or equivalent - depending on size of group.

We will set off shortly after 7 pm, for a 2 to 2 and a half hour drive to our hotel (lodge) - single rooms with en suite bathroom - arriving at approximately 10 pm.

We will return home on Sunday evening arriving back at High Barnet Tube station at approximately 8.30 pm.

Itinerary -

Saturday - depart hotel 9 am to meet our Guide Sally Mosely for a day walk in the Peak District - precise details of walk location to be confirmed soon. - We will be stopping for mid morning coffee , lunch and afternoon tea (not included in the price)

Saturday evening - Dinner ( not included in the price)

Sunday - check out and depart hotel at 930 am ; drive to the scenic town of Bakewell to explore its quaint shops and riverside and perhaps to sample the original Bakewell Pudding (not tart !)

Sunday - early afternoon - drive over to Haddon Hall to visit this medieval home and gardens -http://www.haddonhall.co.uk/ - (tour of House and gardens incuded in the price)

Sunday mid afternoon - drive over to Matlock Bath for scenic riverside walks and opportunity to have afternoon tea/ fish and chips

Sunday late afternoon - head back home to Barnet

Total price for the trip ( 2 nights staying in single rooms ) including all entrance fares, guided walk, transport hire, fuel; £185.00 per person.

Price excludes all meals/food/drink- breakfast is available adjacent to the hotel ( services ) or you may bring your own breakfast to eat in your room.

Payment upfront is essential so the bookings can be made for transport and accommodation.
