Hong Kong’s most underrated 100-year-old engineering secret.
Over a century ago, engineers built a mountain conduit from Pok Fu Lam to the Mid-Levels in just over a year — and it served the city for more than 100 years.
Welcome to the Pok Fu Lam Conduit, the starting point of Hong Kong’s public waterworks history and part of the oldest tunnel-style infrastructure in the city.
Our guide Yan will once again decode the hidden secrets of this ancient waterway — the “Da Vinci Code” of Hong Kong water engineering.
Previous tours explored only two-thirds of the route.
This time we walk the entire conduit.
During tea break, Ling, co-author of In Search of Water, will share the stories behind this remarkable engineering heritage.
⚠️ This tour requires moderate fitness.
Walking time 2+ hours, with some rugged sections.
