This round-table discussion will be on the topic of play. We'll meet and grab a table to discuss over coffee. We'll break into groups of 6-8 and rotate after 45 minutes.

Play (definition): engage in activity for enjoyment and recreation rather than a serious or practical purpose

Example topics:
- How does play show up in your life?
- Does play belong in childhood, adulthood, or both?
- Can play be meaningful?
- Does play have cultural aspects?
- How has play changed over time for you or in society?

We welcome all viewpoints and discussion styles, including disagreement and debate, as long as they remain respectful.

Discussion Guidelines:

  • Let people finish their point when talking
  • Do not monopolize the conversation (make your points succinct)
  • If the moderator raises their hand it means to wrap up your turn to speak
  • Don't make assumptions
  • Be civil (no personal attacks, etc). On the flip side to this, also be ok with disagreement.
