Let's Bowl and Ice Skate in Alameda!

Details

In the middle of January, we'll finally start adventuring together again with a delightful chance to go bowling indoors or ice skate outdoors! Continue enjoying this brand new year by being a kid again, since no matter what the weather does, we'll be sharing our own magical fun in the warming glow of fellowship on a January afternoon. And in addition to skating and bowling, there'll also be several wonderful restaurants within walking distance, including all the gourmet food trucks from "Off the Grid".

Everyone is welcome to either bowl or ice skate -- but if it's raining, we'll all just go bowling. But we'll all meet at the skating rink, where we can decide who's doing want. Skaters should plan on 4,100 wonderful square feet of ice skating bliss, according to the web site for "The Little Ice Rink" (http://thelittleicerink.com/), which has been an Alameda holiday tradition for the last five years. And best of all, there's even special "Skating Aids" to help you keep your balance, making everything easier. (Bobby the Seal -- dressed in holiday orange -- helps you prop yourself up while skating, and he's also a "mobile chair," if you want to give somebody else a push!)

And we'll also be right next to Alameda's newly-renovated bowling alley! There's fancy and funny animations on the overhead scoreboards that celebrate each throw of the ball and cheer everybody on. South Shore Lanes offer a friendly vibe, a neighborhood bowling alley letting you relive fond memories and make some new ones, along with some new friends. So anyone who wants to is welcome to join the bowling party for more exercise and fun -- or just tag along to witness all the fun of a playful Saturday afternoon.

So come enjoy the new yearwith some sparkle and some glitter -- and some friendly and supportive people who are just waiting to encourage you to try something new.

It located at Alameda's South Shore Mall, so there's lots of free parking. It's just $16 to skate (and if you want your own Bobby the Seal, that's $6 more). Start your own new year;s tradition! Enjoy the hallowed glow of January fellowship! Hear the breeze in your ears and skates scooting across ice or hurl a ball at those bowling pins! Bring back fond memories and make some new ones, and experience the rush of a truly aerobic exercise in the most enjoyable way possible -- for a special January afternoon that you'll never forget.

Hope to see you there...!
