Let's Walk Around Alameda's Bay Farm Lagoon!

Come walk in the sunshine and celebrate our first glorious walk of the New Year! We'll stroll together around the shimmering lagoons of Bay Farm Island, looking out across the vast bay to the pretty San Francisco skyline and the shores of Alameda. It's a special tradition - as the new year gets underway, our first walk is always Bay Farm Island. We'll watch sunlight sparkling on the water - and for anyone who's interested, there'll also be a trip to a lovely restaurant for a Sunday morning brunch!

This trail is always near water, and it's paved, so it will also be perfectly flat. The whole route is just 4 miles, so it should take about an hour. Bay Farm Island is always one of our most popular walking routes. (Over 30 people showed up for one walk!) Share some fun and catch up with your fellow adventure walkers as we stroll happily around that gorgeous lagoon that runs through Bay Farm Island. (And maybe work up an appetite for breakfast!)

Our brunch restaurant will be "Jim's on The Course" (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/jims-on-the-course-alameda#bHtlovTxkbLBDsnZTyPl9g), an Alameda tradition that offers everything from omelets and sausages to French toast or biscuits with gravy. (And even chocolate chip pancakes!) I remember sharing some warm conversation and entertaining stories the last time we all ate there. There's nothing more fun than brunch with friends, and it'll give us all a chance to start the New Year with some friendly faces.

You'll have lots of chances on this walk for some nice photos -- there may even be pelicans! -- but there will definitely be lots of happy and enthusiastic people to chat with as we ring in the springtime. So here's a very special New Year's resolution for 2016...one that even rhymes.
