Waren (Müritz) - visiting the largest National Park in Germany

Waren is located on the Müritz, the largest inland lake in Germany, and is the tourist center of the Mecklenburg Lake District region. The numerous sights in Waren (Müritz) attract hundreds of thousands of guests every year.
The Müritz National park is also the highlight of this area.
It is the largest forest national park in Germany, which covers 322 km². This is roughly the size of the city of Munich. It serves to protect the typical Mecklenburg forest and lake landscape in the northern German lowlands east of the Müritz. The numerous lakes and moors make it unique among the 16 German national parks.
During our trip we will walk through the old town Waren, climb to the top of St. Marien church for the best view of the area. After this we will enjoy the pure nature in Müritz National Park.

Schedule
08.45 we take the train from Berlin (I’ll provide the exact meeting point in our WhatsApp group)
10.30 arrive to Waren and begin to explore the town
12.00 lunch in the restaurant
13.00 hike in the Müritz National Park
17.30 train back
19.10 arrive to Berlin
