Weekend Hikers and Beyond, WeHike.org, is a volunteer-led group passionate about hiking in SLO County and the Central Coast of California. In spite of our name, we host day hikes on weekends and weekdays at varying skill levels.

The Johnson Ranch Open Space is comprised of 242 acres of old ranch land just south of San Luis Obispo. We will be doing a loop hike, which is comprised of rolling grassy hills, serpentine rocks, and a few moderate ascents and descents. There can be loose gravel on the trail, so shoes with good tread are recommended. Ticks and poison oak are prevalent.

- Due to the ever changing microclimate, layers recommended

Hello hikers. Join me on this hike to the Lone Oak in Pismo Preserve for an evening smartphone photography shoot. We’ll talk about several important aspects of landscape photography like framing and lighting, plus the critical technique of learning to see what you’re looking at. Bring your iPhone or Android phone — no special equipment needed.

- Casual Walk at Montaña de OroSpooner's Cove, Los Osos, CA
Heya hikers, join us as we enjoy a casual coastal walk at Montaña de Oro State Park just before sunset. We plan to follow the bluffs trail — an easy gravel road — from Spooner’s Cove to the Point Buchon junction and back. Bring water, sun protection, and jacket.
Optionally, those who feel hungry or thirsty after the walk can join us for dinner at Beerwood, 690 Santa Maria Ave, Baywood-Los Osos, CA 93402.
