Cheeseburgers in Paradise

Cheeseburgers in Paradise (Paradise Beach Hike & BBQ)
Paradise Beach is one of the hidden gems of the Central California Coast. It is remote & difficult to reach, but the reward is worth it, more-than-a-mile stretch of pristine sand and surf, just north of Point Sal.
Distance: 6 miles (out-and-back)
Elevation Gain: 800 ft
Difficulty Level: Strenuous - this is a difficult hike!
Three-quarters of this hike is on the beach. We will pass the site where Johnny Depp filmed the "World's End" scene in Pirates of the Caribbean III. The difficulty comes in leaving the beach and ascending a 400-foot sand dune, following coyote trails. The ascent is gradual and moderate. The descent to the beach is steep, but safe. Essentially, we will be going down a sand chute. Coming back up requires scrambling on all fours.
If you prefer taking the path less traveled, and are okay with doing some dune scrambling, this is the hike for you.
AND YES, we'll be barbequing cheeseburgers (& Beyond Burgers) for anyone who wants one!
Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, something warm, and something to share i.e. chips, drinks, etc.
Sorry to say, Dogs are not permitted on this beach (Snowy Plover habitat).
RAIN cancels this event. I will let you know.
