Weekend Hikers and Beyond, WeHike.org, is a volunteer-led group passionate about hiking in SLO County and the Central Coast of California. In spite of our name, we host day hikes on weekends and weekdays at varying skill levels.

Warm Weather Hikes in SLO

If you love to hike but don’t enjoy warm weather, come learn about some pretty cool hikes in SLO County. In this live presentation, local hike leader Joe Gremillion will tell you about four great local trails for great summer hikes.

Casual Walk at Montaña de Oro
Spooner's Cove, 3550 Pecho Valley Rd, Los Osos, CA, USHeya hikers, join us as we enjoy a casual coastal walk at Montaña de Oro State Park just before sunset. We plan to follow the bluffs trail — an easy gravel road — from Spooner’s Cove to the Point Buchon junction and back. Bring water, sun protection, and jacket.
Optionally, those who feel hungry or thirsty after the walk can join us for dinner at Beerwood, 690 Santa Maria Ave, Baywood-Los Osos, CA 93402.
Rain cancels this event, but we can always hope.

Coastal Access Trail and Beach
1 W Grand Ave, Grover Beach, CA, USWe will start our walk on the Coastal Access Trail behind the dunes and will return via the beach. Be prepared for a water crossing or two while on the beach, it just depends on the stream conditions.
*Time: 5:00 pm
- Distance: About 4 miles at a moderate to brisk pace over a variety of terrains
*Location: Picnic Tables @ 1 W Grand Ave, Grover Beach, CA 93433 - Bring: Water, hat &/or layers, per weather conditions.
*Wear: Shoes that you don't mind getting wet, or remove them at the beach or water crossings, if necessary. - ⚠️️ Rain cancels
