Weekly Buddhist Meditation Service, Topic: Resources to Explore
Details
It can be difficult to know where to start when it comes to learning more about Buddhism and mindful practices, so we thought it'd be fun to tackle this head-on. This week, we'll briefly explore why this is (spoiler-alert, it has everything to do with the very decentralized way that Buddhism spread throughout the world), and we'll talk through a list of recommended sources (books, podcasts, etc.) that I have found to be most helpful (I'll bring some with me.) I'd also love to hear your thoughts, too!
Thank you to everyone who has been joining us in our new spot! Last Monday, there were 16 of us (most folks don't RSVP, so don't let low RSVPs stop you!) Hope to see you there!
Join us each Monday evening at 6:30pm at Central Penn College, Room 309 in the ATEC building, for a weekly Buddhist meditation service as we seek to find peace in our hearts, connect with the world around us, and discover meaning during challenging times.
Each service includes a period of meditation followed by a talk and discussion on a teaching of the Buddha.
Open to all faiths and backgrounds, join us as we come together in celebration of inner peace, loving-kindness, joy, and compassion.
