About us

We have convenient online meetings most days of the week, via Zoom.

How do I get started? That's pretty easy! At our website you will find information about the Compulsive Eaters Anonymous program and find a list of Zoom meetings and contact information. Go to: https://www.loseweightvegas.org/.

About CEA-HOW. Many people suffer from the diseases of overeating, bulimia and anorexia. Thousands have found relief and hope by joining CEA-HOW. CEA-HOW (Compulsive Eaters Anonymous - Honesty, Open Mindedness, and Willingness) is a worldwide 12-step program for compulsive eaters. The goal of CEA-HOW is to help its members recover from compulsive eating.

What are meetings like? We are a 12-step program. Come to a meeting and listen to the experience of others. Decide if the CEA-HOW program is right for you.

What is the cost? This is not a commercial weight loss program.
There are no dues or fees to join.

Does this program focus on weight loss? Not necessarily. We support achieving and maintaining a sane and healthy body weight. Many of our members have lost between a few to hundreds of pounds. Some members who are bulimics or anorexics focus on maintaining a healthy weight while recovering from bingeing, purging, and/or starving.

How long do you have to do the program? We take our program one day at a time. Each member initially starts with a 30-day approach that follows a measured food plan approved by their health care professional and introduces the member to the 12-step program.

What kind of food will I eat? We eat protein, fruit, vegetables, fats, and whole grains.
Whether you are an omnivore, vegetarian, or vegan, you will be able to follow our program.

Is special food required? No. Our members eat regular food easily found at a grocery store.

Which foods do I abstain from? We abstain from sugar and flour. We also abstain from compulsive eating, which includes eating large quantities of food (overeating or binge eating), anorexia (undereating or starving), bulimia (purging or overexercising), and orthorexia (obsession with "proper" eating leading to malnutrition).

Does the CEA-HOW program require exercise? No.

Do I have to go to meetings? We attend meetings where we support and help one another. Meetings help members get out of the isolation that fuels eating-related obsession.

Why do you abstain from sugar? We recognize that when we eat sugar we either crave more food or engage in disordered eating. Abstaining from sugar and following the CEA-HOW program and food plan can eliminate that craving and disordered eating.

Why should I do CEA-HOW instead of another program? Because it works. We offer a disciplined and structured program. For most of us, the program addresses the root cause of our compulsive eating and leads to long-term recovery and maintenance. Our members have experienced significant weight loss and/or recovered from other eating disorders.
