Explore Welkinweir Woods

Part of the state-wide Walk in Penn's Woods, we'll explore the woods at Welkinweir! Led by Dr. Jen Santoro, whose background is forest ecology (UVM) and currently teaches GIS and Environmental Science at Villanova. Trees are cool, but do you know why? Learn about how forests are always working for us, providing recreation, wildlife habitat, beauty, improved water quality, clean air, wood products, carbon storage, and more.
A great way to get out and take an invigorating walk along the Horse-Shoe Trail as it crosses Welkinweir. Wear sturdy, comfortable shoes as the walk has hills and the trails are natural. Meet at the visitor parking lot.
