Microsoft Foundry Toolkit for VS Code makes it possible to build, test, debug, and deploy AI agents directly from your familiar VS Code development environment.

In this hands-on session, we'll explore what agent development looks like from a developer's perspective — without getting lost in the AI hype.
We'll cover:

  • What makes an AI application an agent?
  • How to build and configure an agent using VS Code
  • Connecting agents with models and tools
  • Testing and debugging agents locally
  • Inspecting agent behaviour and tool calls
  • Deploying an agent to Microsoft Foundry
  • A look at how this fits into a .NET / C# development workflow

The session will be a mix of concepts and live demos, with the majority of the session focused on building a working agent from scratch.

No previous AI/agent experience is required. Some familiarity with VS Code and software development is helpful.

Note: This is an in-person event. A big thank you to Deloitte for sponsoring the venue and H2R for sponsoring the catering and supporting our meetup community!
