Hiking with friends (Colonial Knob loop)

Hey folks!

In this hike, we will climb to the summit of this 468 m Colonial Knob peak for views on clear day from the Inland Kaikoura Range in the south to Mt Taranaki in the north-west.

We will meet at 10:00am the car park of the Porirua Scenic Reserve (beside of Camp Elsdon).

This trip will only go ahead in nice weather and if there hasn't been too much rain in the days beforehand.

If you are unwell, please stay home and get better!!!!

***HIKE DIFFICULTY***
-- Roughly 10-12km, 400+ meters elevation, 3~4 hours hiking.
-- The tracks are mostly well formed, some sections very be very steep, rough or muddy. Clearly signposted.
-- Attendance to this event is purely at your own risk.

***WHAT TO BRING***

• Non-slip boots!
• Water/Wind resistant jacket!!
• Sunhat, sunscreen, sunglasses
• Water!!
• Lunch and Snacks!

***Location and RIDES***
- Meet at 10:00am the car park of the Porirua Scenic Reserve (beside of Camp Elsdon).
- Can do pickups from Jonsionvile Train Station at 9:30am if requested, else organise selves
- We will have after-hiking coffee and lunch refreshment in a cafe, and all are welcome to join - trying Syrian restaurant, Diwan, 18 Hartham Place North, Porirua City Centre, Porirua

Usually maximum 12 hikers. Please join the waiting list if it's full. Someone may drop off in last day.

No show policy: If you are listed as 'Going' and do not turn up, a 'No Show' will be recorded against your name. Three 'No Shows' and you will not welcome to join any hiking events in future.
