Te Ara Tupua walking and cycling Path Walk
Details
The Te Ara Tupua walking and cycling Path has recently opened alongside Wellington Harbour between Petone and Ngauranga. We plan to walk it from the Petone end returning by train or bus.
Meeting at 10am, the plan is to start at Honiana Te Puni Reserve on the Petone foreshore at the western end of the Petone Esplanade, a few hundred metres from Petone Station (might be advisable to park somewhere in between) and walk along Te Ara Tupua path (about 5km taking a bit over an hour) to Ngauranga and then either catching a train or replacement bus back to Petone, where we should be back by midday.
After returning to Petone there will be the option of gathering for a drink, snack or lunch at a Café in Petone.
The walk is flat (apart from overbridge at Ngauranga end) and suitable for most fitness levels.
Bring: Raincoat (while the walk will be postponed if significant rain is forecast there could be a weather change at short notice) and Snapper card or cash for the train/bus.
Please RSVP so that we look out for you at the start of the walk and be notified of last minute postponement
