Connecting, and defining architecture, with Lego Serious Play

Details
We are back at Z Energy this month - under the sails opposite TSB Arena. Doors lock off at 5:30pm, there'll be someone to let you in if you're a little late though.
Time for something totally different!
This session will tackle the conundrum of being an Architect in 2025, and also see if we can't make some new connections and new friends along the way.
I've noticed that during our Architect Forum sessions, it’s not easy to have meaningful conversations that lead to connections after we’ve gone home. We chat a little before and after our speaker but we're not getting the real power of having a few dozen smart people in the room who could do so much more if they knew each other better. And Christina has the tools to fix that. You have to see it to believe it.
We will use LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® to explore the question: what IS an architect in 2025? And at the same time we will meet new people and learn new techniques for engaging our stakeholders.
Is this session right for me?
Everyone is welcome - if you are in an IT/Digital role or considering one, you do architecture and you should come along and meet us. This session will be particularly useful for folks considering an Architect role or want to know what Architects do.
This will be a fun, hands on introduction, ideal for those who want to learn new ways to understand your stakeholders and get them on board with your ideas. The LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methodology combines visual, auditory, and kinaesthetic learning styles into a single creative approach to solving wicked problems. Using metaphor and storytelling to drive new insights, is what gives LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® its power.
Change the process… change the outcome.
To thrive in today’s fast paced workplace, individuals need to learn to think and act creatively by playing, collaborating, and testing boundaries (Reznick, 2017). The ability to be creative is noted as a top trait for emerging and successful leaders. The future of the workplace is calling for more innovative and collaborative thinkers demonstrated by a recent poll of 1,500 CEOs rating creativity above integrity and global thinking as the most desired leadership trait (Reznick, 2017; Carr, 2010).
