Hello!
If you’re into agentic AI, I run bi-weekly live sessions and thought you might find this interesting.
Next week, I’ll be joined by Rizel Scarlett! (Principal Developer Advocate at Entire)
Talk: In Loving Memory of Prompt Engineering
We are gathered here today to say goodbye to prompt engineering. It got us through the era of small context windows and unpredictable models. But it doesn't survive the age of agents.
Because when AI systems can take actions, write code, and modify infrastructure on your behalf, carefully wordsmithing a prompt isn't enough anymore. You can give an agent all the context in the world and it will still do the wrong thing. Not because it lacked information, but because it misunderstood what you actually wanted.
This talk is about that gap between instruction and intent, and why closing it is the next frontier of developer tooling. I'll introduce intent engineering, and I'll demo how MCP Apps, MCP Elicitation, and MCP Sampling provide us with the primitives to implement it.
Come for the eulogy. Stay for the future.
Looking forward to seeing you there! 🧉
