Colonial Knob Walk - by moonlight

Let's go for a moonlit walk up Colonial Knob. It's a great walk for a bit of fitness training.

We’ll start from the Elsdon camp car park on Raiha Street, Keneupuru. The first 30 minutes or so is mostly stairs almost to the lookout point. From there the track joins a 4 wheel track to the summit. We’ll return through the same track although we might take the 4 wheel track all the way down to Raiha street if the stairs are found to be slippery. Here is the link to the walk.

🚩 Summary of Trip:

📌 Duration: Around 2.00-3.00 hours return including the rest stop.
🔸 Drive to the car park at the Elsdon Camp enterence. If you are arriving by train the best place to get off the train is the Kenepuru Station.

👍 Be considerate by keeping your RSVP up to date at all times, and do not pull out 4 hours or less, before the trip begins, otherwise, you will block someone who may want to join.

👍 Please be contactable, to others. If organizers need to, or your passenger/driver need to make arrangements etc, then make sure private messaging (via meetup) is not blocked, your cell phone is turned on, and text messages are regularly checked.

👍 Pay your driver if you are getting a ride.

👍 Please DO NOT RSVP if you are going to join the hike late, or leave early. It just makes things complicated and difficult to organize.

👍 Keep together as a group – i.e. not too fast or too slow. If you think you cannot climb 465m DO NOT RSVP. Please do not become impatient with others who may be slower than you. Thanks 😊
