Explore the newly open Manawatu Highway

The new Manawatu Highway has recently opened and there is a fantastic bikeway/walkway incorporated into the design. It will be about 20 easy Kms return with the great option of those wanting an easier walk to turn back early. I plan to do the full route. Park on the Palmerston North side that leads into the Manawatu Gorge walk. Follow the trail as shown by the partial map of the eastern side. Enjoy the stunning views of the wind turbines and surrounding farmland. Bring warm gear, food and water. Unlike most of my other trips, bush bashing is not involved.
