Finally good weather tomorrow. Park at the Mangaone South car park ready for a 9.30am start. Ignore the site info of North Mangaone, I can't seem to change it.
It's a wet feet walk to the derelict bulldozer found in Kaitawa reserve. Behind it is an old logging track that ascends to the disused deer pen. If the weather is fine we will continue in a clockwise direction and descend a narrow stream bed taking us back to the bulldozer. Otherwise return the same way. It's a great stream walk on a hot day, it's only ankle deep, hazards are slippery rocks and a couple of wind falls. Some of it is along an old logging track above the stream. It is a very pleasant day out.
I have two spaces in my car for someone wanting to be picked up from Paraparaumu railway station. You must ring me tonight if you want this 022-404-7100
