Washington county Master Gardeners will present on late winter sowing, a fun and economical method of planting seeds in containers like milk jugs and placing them outdoors during the late winter/early spring months. Seedlings emerge in springtime and when mature enough, are transplanted into gardens and other outdoor spaces.

This hands-on class will educate and assist you in spring sowing pollinator friendly annual plant seeds, which provide food and habitat for pollinators and other wildlife.

Please bring up to two clean, empty gallon milk jug (opaque, not solid white). The opaque type as shown in the picture allows light into the jug. You will make your own container to take home. Be prepared to get your hands dirty or bring gardening gloves.

Potting soil, seeds and aeration holes are provided.
