A free guided tour of Edinburgh Castle for LGBTQ+ people (16+) with a special welcome to LGBTQ+ carers

Join us on Saturday 23rd September (11-1pm) for a visit of Edinburgh Castle.

We have teamed up with Historic Scotland and Edinburgh Castle to offer a free guided tour of the most besieged place in Britain. Be entertained by tales of kings and queens past and discover the must-see spots around the castle. You will also be able to take in the spectacular views of Scotland’s capital along the way.

After the tour, we will enjoy a cuppa and chat in one of the castle's private rooms.

Who we welcome

We warmly invite LGBTQ+ carers to join us, but anyone from the LGBTQ+ community (16+) in Edinburgh is welcome to join us.

We welcome the entire diversity of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community including non-binary, queer, intersex, asexual people and all identities under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella.

We also welcome people who aren't sure about their sexual orientation/gender identity, or who do not use labels for either.

The venue

Meet outside the main entrance to Edinburgh Castle on the Esplanade.

We will send more details about meeting point and time after registration.

Registration (on Eventbrite)

Spaces are limited to 20 people so we need you to register in advance.

Please use the Eventbrite registration form to register (RSVP on Meetup does not count as a registration).

You can also contact the event organiser Diane at diane@lgbthealth.org.uk, or phone 0759 867 2654 and leave a message for Diane.

If something changes and you can no longer attend the event, please cancel your space on Eventbrite or let Diane know as soon as you can so your space becomes available for someone else.

Access

♿ Edinburgh Castle is steep in places and cobbled, but the majority of buildings are accessible for wheelchairs.

More information about accessibility at Edinburgh Castle in this access guide.

Please contact Diane directly with any access needs you have and we can inform Edinburgh Castle staff beforehand to ensure they have the correct support in place for you to enjoy the tour.
