Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse — Reading as Practice
What if the life you are looking for cannot be found by following someone else's path?

Join us for a six-session reading of Hermann Hesse's Siddhartha, a timeless story about searching, experience, love, loss and finding your own way.

We will read slowly, share ideas, and explore questions such as:

  • Can wisdom be taught, or must it be lived?
  • What is the difference between knowledge and wisdom?
  • Do we need to experience life fully before we can understand it?
  • Can we find meaning without following someone else's path?
  • What can love, loss, success and failure teach us?

Although the story is set in ancient India and draws on Buddhist and Indian ideas, this is not a religious study group.
The aim is not to finish a book as quickly as possible, but to give a good book enough time to work on us.
