Mt Tammany laps

Details

From the Dunfield Creek parking lot we will follow the red dot trail up Mount Tammany onto the blue trail and then down back around the bottom back to the parking lot . This loop is 3 miles.

We will see how many times we can do that on this day.we are training.

Exactly 1200 ft climb . Do as many or a few laps as you wish, but be aware due to the nature of this event, it is possible the group will not stay together, and probably likely. If you were able to park in Dunfield, you will be able to leave most of your stuff in your car and go to your car at the end of every lap . if you park at Kittatinny, you will need to bring all of your water and hydration with you .

If you are able to get there early enough, you’ll be able to park at Dunfield which the start of the hike is right there . If not , the Best parking is at Kittatinny visitor center - which is located 1st exit i think …just after you cross over the Delaware on route 80 . you will have walk down the road a little bit and cross under route 80 and then back up to the parking lot which might be a half a mile total.

Bad weather cancels - not climbing in the rain .

Experienced hikers please. If you don’t know the route, you will have to at least manage our pace so that you can do one full lap with guidance. Otherwise, if you are concerned, I can certainly send you the Gaia file.

We start hiking up from the dunfield parking area at 8:30 sharp so get there early.
There might be an overused Porta potty in that parking lot . Best there is there.
If you don’t know where this is or how to get there, please google it I will not be responding to requests for directions .

I might go out for something to eat and Delaware water, gap, PA after the hike.
